We're going to Hawaii!
As a Christmas gift to each other, because we desperatly need a vacation, and because we got a great deal...we're going to Hawaii. We're flying to Oahu and staying at the Outrigger Reef for 7 nights. Then we board the Pride of Aloha for a 7 night cruise of the Islands.
On Oahu we plan to hike/bike Diamond Head, go to Pearl Harbor and do some shopping. The cruise stops at Kauai, The Big Island (Hawaii) and Maui. We've signed up to take a helicopter ride in Kauai, hike a volcano on the Big Island and go to a luau on Maui. Ian is also going to do a bike ride on Maui. Other then that we'll relax and just do whatever we feel like. I'm so looking forward to it!
If I can find a computer on the trip I'll post photos and let you know what we're doing. Have a Happy New Year!

Put Yourself on the Map
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...
Last Saturday was the Los Gatos Christmas Parade. Jiffy Dave got the Jiffy float out and Ryan did the usual crazy acrobatics over it while the rest of us got the crowd to cheer. Afterwards we posed for a group photo.

Then it was off to get our Christmas Tree. Ian and I went with Ryan, Jo and Big Ian up to the Santa Cruz Mountains to cut down two trees - one for us and one for them. Since we have higher ceilings in the new house we wanted a bigger tree. First we found the one for our house (it's hard to find tall Christmas Trees) and Ian carried it to our truck.

Then we found one for Jo and Ian. Ryan cut down the tree for them and then posed like a pro for me.

I love the smell of the mountains and, unlike last year, it wasn't raining this year. Now I just have to figure out how to keep Chip & Trooper from climbing it and breaking my ornaments.

Ian Speaks!
Ian gave a talk for the Cal Poly Art & Design Department last Thursday night on the topic of starting your own design studio. His presentation was titled "Maybe...Someday".

He did an amazing job and I was really proud of him. Afterwards we went out to dinner with some of the AIGA students who organized the talk. It was great to be back in San Luis Obispo, even if it was just for a few hours.
