Lissa & Paul's Wedding
We had a great time in Baja and Lissa and Paul's wedding was beautiful.
We spent the week before at my Dad's house near Los Barriles. He has an amazing house with a patio off the back that has great views of the beach and coastline. He also just recently built an additional guestroom on the lower half of his property that he dubbed the "honeymoon suite".

The guys celebrated the kick-off of the week with some cigars on the back patio.

Throughout the week I helped Lissa with last minute wedding stuff (programs, meal tickets, the wedding program, etc.). I also got to go fishing one day where I caught my first Marlin. Well, really I reeled the marlin in while Paul helped me hold the pole and keep the fish on the line. It was a team effort!
One of the days Lissa, Paul, Ian and I drove to San Jose del Cabo. It's a relatively small town of only a few streets - but they're lined with shops and restaurants. The architecture is really cool with great churches and courtyards.

I must admit I had fun with the black and white feature on the camera. Not even Ian was spared. :)
A couple of days before the wedding we packed our bags and headed to the Dreams Resort Los Cabos. It's a beautiful all-inclusive resort with large rooms, great views, and yummy food. I highly recommend it.
Many of the wedding guests were staying at the resort, so Lissa arranged a trip for a group of us to go on a jet ski tour along the baja coast. It was a blast! The waves were crashing on the beach so the guides had a little troubl egetting us all out past the break, but once they did we were off. Ian drove and I rode on the back. It was so much fun to rev the engine and go flying into the air over a wave!
The rehearsal was a casual affair with many participants hopping out of the pool to participate and then jumping right back in. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere and set the stage for a smooth wedding the next day.
Lissa and Paul's Rehearsal
That night Paul's family hosted a lovely rehearsal dinner on the beach in front of the resort. It was a really nice opportunity for the two families to get to know each other better. And Paul's sisters again made great favors.

The day of the wedding was a beautiful day. The wedding went off without a hitch and everyone seemed like they had a great time. Paul's sister Megan translated the ceremony (the officiant recited the ceremony in Spanish) flawlessly. Lissa was a beautiful bride and Paul was a relaxed and cool groom. The centerpieces Lissa designed (and we made) were perfect for the occasion and the flowers were bright and colorful. All-in-all it was a wonderful wedding.
