Nyquist

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated our three-year wedding anniversary. Ian made reservations for us at the Big Sur River Inn for the weekend. The inn is pretty rustic (kinda reminded me of the cabin we lived in last year), but it was really clean and the restaurant was pretty yummy. I also got to try a new drink called "Peppermint Patty" that was hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps. It kept me all warm and snuggly.

But the best part about the inn is the river that runs through the property. They place these large wooden chairs in the middle of it and you can sit and relax, with the water gurgling all around you. So nice!


Big Sur River Inn

We spent Friday night and Saturday at the Inn, then drove down to San Luis Obispo for dinner and a movie Saturday night. It was fun to see how much the town has changed since we went to school there. They've built a whole new shopping center where one of the parking lots used to be and there is a lot of construction on the Cal Poly campus.

On Sunday, after eating a big breakfast at the Inn, we headed towards home with a stop in Monterey to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They had a new jelly fish exhibit that was beautiful. We tried to take a couple of photos with our camera phones.

All-in-all it was a great weekend. Best of all...we didn't work!
